Results of experiments show that mold temperature is the most significant parameter of groove filling rate (GFR) and demolding force. Thus the optimal setting parameters can be obtained for evaluating the demolding force of injection molding of flat panel with microstructures. Experimental results can reveal the relation between demolding force and the contact angle of several setting parameters. Several setting parameters have been conducted in this study to achieve feasible product with microstructures. Two pressure sensors have been installed to support the demolding pin to measure the demolding force. Contact angle has been measured at surface product and mold insert by experimental and theoretic analysis. This study is to investigate the relation between demolding force and contact angle between part and mold cavity surface during injection molding process.

Demolding is the process of removing polymer of injection molded parts from mold cavity when the part has reached a stable condition or enough solidification layer thickness in injection molding process.
